NEW End and NEW North Event interview with @DebSoul
@DebSoul and @Kalalea are two of my favorite friends on Twitter.
Recently I attended the NEW End and NEW North event in Green Bay and did a brief interview with @DebSoul on the use of hashtags which are an easy way to:
- Filter conversation during a live event on Twitter
- Find like-minded people that you may not have already connected with on Twitter after an event

If you are attending a live or virtual event on Twitter using a hashtag and want to filter your stream these are two great programs to use:
Later in the day @Kalalea was one of the panelists on the Social Media panel that discussed a number of different things, opinions and methods to using Twitter as a social media marketing platform for your small business.
Personally, my Virtual Assistant business has grown in ways that I would have never imagined because of Twitter.
If you are looking on ways to grow your internet presence but do not have the knowledge or the time to dedicate to doing so contact me today to schedule an appointment to discuss the strategy that is best suited for your small business.

Using hashtags to connect with new people after an event is brilliant!
Thanks for that.

Dave – you are welcome! Happy New Year….I’m going to hop over to your blog now so I can leave you one last comment in 2009!
I am still completely lost with Twitter, I have almost no idea what it is, and I don’t know anyone else in New Zealand who uses Twitter (are we still in the Dark Ages over here?
)
Sarah – too funny…really there are that few people from New Zealand on Twitter?

Hi friend,
twitter is very good social bookmarking site that gives traffic to our blog. But we should use it effectively. Unless we know that, we cant get much followers.
I have written a post about twitter at http://www.novicebloggers.com/dos-and-donts-to-get-more-followers-in-twitter/ today.. I think it will be interesting to read.
Hope you like it..

Deepika – I am def going to check out your post. I think there are many aspects of Twitter that we all just don’t “get” yet. For example – I find that all too often people will RT but never open the link associated with the Tweet. I love to experiment though to see what works and what doesn’t seem to work.

Thanks for the tips to grow followers of same interest.
Shekahar – another great way to meet like-minded people on Twitter is to participate in one of the many niche weekly chats – like #smbiz and #smallbizchat (two of my favorites)
Hello there Sunshine! I loved the video here from @DebSoul with your interview. As always, you have a great laugh and are a joy to watch. BUT, really 5 billion! I was already impressed that you have like 13,000 Twitter followers… did I miss something… 5 billion now? Ok, I am still happy with my 800 followers! Wow! LOL!
Anita – Deb totally made me laugh when she was recording that and they really did use that line as a catchy title that I thought was great for re-purposing when I did my own blog post on it.

I tend to follow most of those who follow me, at least give them a test. If they are just posting, RTs or flooding – I unfollow quickly. I am not going to follow anyone who is just ruining it for me.
