Using the data filter option in Excel will allow you to quickly and efficiently “retreive” desired data based on the criteria you want.

In Excel 2007:

Tip: All columns must have a header (name) before applying the filter

In cell A1 go to:

Data>Filter (the funnel icon)

Once you have applied the filter you can then select the “arrow” to select only the desired data (by column). You can filter down even further by selecting another column and applying the filter to that desired data as well.
