Michelle – in tweetdeck the user can choose to use ‘old style’ or the new method of retweeting.
Most if not all users of tweetdeck I know have changed it to old style

This annoying RT feature of twitter is yet another reason for me to use Tweetdeck. At least my RT’s are being seen by the original tweep.

That is one feature about TweetDeck that I just love and hope that TwInbox adds it soon as that is one of my preferred applications.

I actually use Tweetdeck and I find it makes thanking people so much easier and I can thank multiple people all with one tweet, and each person is added with a click of the mouse.

I’ve never tried HootSuite – was never a fan of how their shortened tweets show how many days ago. But I have heard good things about it from many, including you.

I did manage to get TweetDeck to reinstall with the help of my friend, @TommyTRC. Apparently there was an install file that was hung up in the system. Once he deleted that out it re-installed lickety split.

I use a bunch of different programs and do use the web interface for Twitter about 60% of the time (because of specifically going to a person’s page to see what is there that I can RT).

I never knew there was a RT problem with twitter, though since I have been tweeting I don’t think I’ve ever used twitter.com to tweet.

I highly recommend HootSuite. It’s a web based application and sounds (from what I’ve read) a lot like what Gail has recommended to. I think in this day and age there are a lot of apps out there doing a lot of the same thing. I just posted why I like HootSuite if you want to see some of the features I like.

As for tweetdeck not reinstalling, more than likely (cause I had that issue to – way back when) it’s a permission setting on your computer. If you are not a super user than Adobe Air won’t install. If you are logged in as a super user, double check the security settings on all the folders from the top down to the install folder. If even 1 of those folder/subfolders don’t have the correct permission settings it will fail thhe Adobe Air install.

Gail – I am totally going to check out your DoFollow Tools and Lists that you linked to. I don’t think I’ve seen what Kikolani though I’ve been to her site and she recently had my post on 20 WordPress Plugins I would die without as part of her Friday Mashup.
